Jemiggy was born out of personal experience and feeling like there could be a better way to travel, and generally getting out and about with my dog, without having to plan too far ahead or detour.
I have had a dog since I was about 10, having a dog within a family is a very different thing to being a single dog owner and having nobody to back you up when you need to “just pop in the shop.”
In 2010 I brought home Jemima, my first puppy, that was mine to have full responsibility for….. Wow what a learning curve! Having a puppy makes a big change to your life and you don’t realise just how much you would do for that little ball of fluff. Having somebody else with you to hold the dog while you pop in a shop to get your pint of milk or even while you are in a café and need to pop to the toilet is more useful than you realise – until you are on your own.
After Jemima died I only lasted two months before bringing home Tiggy and as that was towards the end of the covid pandemic and travel was still restricted, I didn’t get around to doing too much catching up on traveling, without a little friend, before I was back to having the same restrictions.
On one of our trips out, the name Jemiggy popped into my head as a consolidation of Jemima and Tiggy. I wanted to do something to remember Jemima too and so I had the name before I figured out what to do with it – anybody that has set up a new company knows the name can be the hardest part!
So, Jemiggy is now made up of Juliette, a qualified accountant with her own practice established in 2010 and Tiggy, the English Springer Spaniel – also known as, the boss!
Our aim is to make getting out and about easier for all.
